Short Answer

Losing sounds above 15 to 16 kHz in your thirties is common. A browser test is only a rough guide, so see an audiologist if you notice trouble hearing speech or ringing.

The upper limit of human hearing drops gradually with age. Many healthy adults in their thirties stop hearing tones above roughly 15 to 17 kHz, so your result is not unusual on its own.

A browser hearing test depends on your headphones, volume and sound card, so treat it as a rough check, not a diagnosis. If you struggle to follow speech, hear ringing or notice a difference between ears, book a hearing test with a doctor or audiologist.

Step By Step Fix
  1. Repeat the Hearing Test with the same headphones at a comfortable, low volume
  2. Try a second pair of headphones to see if the result changes
  3. Test each ear separately, a gap between ears is worth mentioning to a doctor
  4. Keep volume moderate and avoid raising it to hear a faint tone
  5. Book a professional hearing test if speech sounds unclear or you notice ringing

also depends on your headphones, a lot of cheap ones cant even play above 16k so test with good ones

I am 38 and I stop hearing around 16 kHz on my headphones. The hearing test is only a rough guide, so see an audiologist if you are worried.
