Why the Rear Channels Stay Silent in a 5.1 Test on Windows

Hello, I have a 2.1 desktop system in a small bedroom and the bass is boomy, it makes vocals sound muddy. Is this the room or the speakers?
Boomy bass in a small room is mostly room resonance. Move the sub away from walls, lower its level and run a Frequency Sweep to find the loudest range.
Small rooms create standing waves that boost certain bass notes, which is why it sounds boomy. Placing the sub in a corner makes it worse.
A sweep shows the pitch where the room is loudest.
