Short Answer

Research on binaural beats for sleep is mixed, and results vary between people. Keep the volume very low, use a timer and skip earbuds in bed if they are uncomfortable.

Studies on binaural beats for sleep and relaxation show mixed results, so some people feel calmer while others notice no change. It is fair to treat them as a relaxation aid, not a treatment.

If you use them at night, keep the volume low, use a sleep timer instead of all-night playback, and avoid pressing earbuds into your ear while lying on them. If sleep problems continue, talk to a doctor.

Step By Step Fix
  1. Set the volume so it is barely above the room noise
  2. Use your phone's sleep timer to stop playback after 30 to 60 minutes
  3. Choose over-ear or a flat sleep headband in place of earbuds if lying on your side
  4. Check the Decibel Meter to keep the room under quiet levels
  5. Speak to a doctor if you have long-term trouble sleeping

I fall asleep with it at low volume and a sleep timer. If you wake up with sore ears, turn it down.
