Short Answer

Crackling that follows cable movement points to a damaged cable or plug. Test another cable if the headphones are detachable, otherwise repair or replace the cable.

A crackle that changes when the cable moves means a broken wire or a worn plug contact. The signal cuts for a split second as the strands touch.

Because it affects only one side, it is not the PC or a driver.

Step By Step Fix
  1. Wiggle the cable near the plug and near the earcup to find where the crackle changes
  2. Try a different cable if your model has a detachable one
  3. Test the headphones on your phone to confirm the same fault
  4. If the cable is fixed, ask the maker about a replacement cable under warranty

Replaced the cable, 12 dollars online and it is like new. It took me a few minutes, and the Left Right Test showed the difference straight away.

Same fault on mine at the earcup end. Fixed with new cable. Hope that saves you some time.

The Left Right Test showed me instantly which side was weak, so I could stop guessing.
