Short Answer

A low tone, around 165 Hz, can help vibrate water out of the speaker grille. Keep volume moderate, dry the phone and avoid heat or rice.

The vibration at low frequency can push small amounts of water out of the grille. It is not a repair for a flooded phone.

After you make the change, play the Tone Generator again to confirm the result. If the problem is still there, add your device, browser and what you tried in the replies so the team can narrow it down.

Step By Step Fix
  1. Dry the outside of the phone and place it with the speaker facing down
  2. Play a 165 Hz tone at medium volume for a few minutes
  3. Wipe water that comes out
  4. Do not use heat. See a repair shop if it stays muffled

Worked for me after a swimming pool accident. Worth trying before you spend any money.

Don't use rice, tone and a towel were enough. Worth trying before you spend any money.

Starting at a low level and increasing slowly has saved my speakers more than once.
