Short Answer

Music working but calls silent usually means the earpiece, call volume or a Bluetooth device is the problem. Raise call volume, disconnect Bluetooth and test in Safe Mode.

Media and call audio use separate volume channels and outputs, so music working only proves the main speaker is alive. The call path uses the earpiece and microphone, which can be blocked, muted or routed elsewhere.

The quick checks below find the cause in most cases, and Safe Mode tells you whether an app is interfering.

Step By Step Fix
  1. During a call press the volume up key to raise call volume
  2. Turn off Bluetooth and check the phone is not connected to a watch, car or earbuds
  3. Remove the screen protector or case if it covers the earpiece and clean the earpiece gently with a dry soft brush
  4. Use the Mic Test in your browser to confirm the microphone works
  5. Restart in Safe Mode and make a test call to rule out a third party app
  6. Contact the maker or a repair shop if calls are still silent

try the call volume up while on a call, its separate from the music volume

In my case the call volume was at zero and the music volume was fine. I only noticed during a call when I pressed volume up.
